Webinar considers lessons learned from MEWP accident data

IPAF Webinar - Accident Reporting

What does the analysis of accident data from around the world teach us about safety in powered access? That is the question under consideration in an upcoming free webinar from the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) on 16 September.

Interested parties are invited to register to join expert IPAF presenters to look at how IPAF's worldwide accident reporting project is reducing accidents through intelligence. The data collated helps IPAF and its members to identify areas of risk, common trends, and industry insights to improve the safe use of powered access.

In a presentation entitled “Reducing accidents through intelligence” Peter Douglas, CEO & MD of IPAF, will give an overview of IPAF’s accident reporting project (www.ipaf.org/accident) and why explain why every IPAF member should be part of this life-saving initiative.

Peter will review IPAF’s Global MEWP Safety Report 2016-2018, which presents key findings from 25 countries around the globe. When Chair of the UK Country Council, Peter led on the project from the beginning in 2012. The information gained has been used to create safety awareness campaigns and inform all the work IPAF does, including developing industry guidance and training.

Brian Parker, who joins IPAF later this year as Head of Technical & Safety and was a key part of the IPAF Accident Project Working Group, will look in-depth at previously unpublished data and explore emerging trends in accidents and fatalities involving MEWPs across different industries, locations, and work tasks.

The webinar will also include a preview of the updated IPAF Accident Reporting Portal, which provides a new user experience, an easier process to report an accident or near-miss and works on multiple devices.
