Movicarga awards

At the Movicarga Awards, held on 26 September in Madrid, Peter Douglas, CEO and Managing Director of IPAF, received an award for his contribution to the lifting industry and his role in helping IPAF grow in both size and recognition.

  • Understanding and reducing carbon footprint, social inclusion across the workforce, reducing and reusing resources as part of the circular economy are key to effecting sustainable change, according to speakers at IPAF’s Europlatform 2022 conference.

  • Attendees at the recent ALH Conference have been urged to adopt the ANSI suite of standards related to the design, safe-use and training of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) in the US ahead of them being adopted into law by OSHA.

  • Representatives of IPAF at the Association of Professional Foresters (APF) Show in Warwickshire, 22-24 September 2022, have launched an updated leaflet entitled Safe Use of MEWPs to Manage Trees and Vegetation.

  • Members and non-members who log data to IPAF’s accident reporting portal are now able to access improved dashboard functions that allow them to track their safety statistics against the wider industry, following work to enhance and updated the portal’s user interface.

  • “Can falls ever be eradicated?” is the provocative coverline of the 2022 edition of Elevating Safety, IPAF’s annual industry magazine dedicated to promoting powered access safety in North America, which is out now in print and online.

  • The IPAF Asia Conference & Showcase event made a successful return on 28-29 July at the Singapore EXPO & Hilton Orchard Singapore – with more than 250 physical attendees joining the first in-person edition of the event since the pandemic.

  • IPAF will be exhibiting at Stand 540 and looks forward to welcoming everyone who wants to know more about safety in the use of powered access platforms at height.

  • Operators can now benefit from quality ISO-certified MEWP training in Estonia and Latvia, which join Lithuania in being able to offer courses developed by IPAF via Ramirent, which now has IPAF-certified training centres across the Baltic countries.

  • MEWP rental markets continued to recover strongly after the pandemic in 2021 and early 2022, despite clouds on the horizon caused by global uncertainty, according to the latest IPAF Global Powered Access Rental Market Report, compiled by Ducker.

  • After a two-year hiatus during the pandemic, IPAF’s Innovate workshop is back on the agenda and scheduled for September 28 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare Hotel in Chicago, IL, a day in advance of the ALH Conference at the Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel Rosemont.  

  • IPAF has announced bookings are now open for its Asia Conference 2022 event, to be held on conference on 28-29 July at the Singapore EXPO & Hilton Orchard Singapore – the first time since the coronavirus pandemic that the event has been held in person.

  • Falls from the platform, electrocution and platform overturns are the most common incidents leading to serious injuries and deaths over the past ten years, according to the latest IPAF Global Safety Report, based on analysis of anonymised accident data.
