IPAF has announced a ground-breaking agreement with member firm United Rentals, Inc, owner of the largest powered access rental fleet in the world. Following extensive evaluation, United Rentals is now able to deliver IPAF Certified mobile elevated work platform (MEWP), also known as AWP, operator training delivered through its United Academy blended learning platform.

In 2022, both the European and US MEWP rental markets boomed, though rental and utilisation rates have yet to return to levels seen in 2019 amid uncertainty around high inflation and ongoing conflict in Ukraine, according to the latest IPAF/Ducker report.

The first wave of apprentices on a new route to certifying specialist MEWP technicians have been celebrated by representatives of IPAF as they embarked on their studies at North Warwickshire & South Leicestershire College.

IPAF has been made aware of a safety alert from the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regarding failure to detect mechanical failure in drive units which affects Mast Climbing Work Platforms (MCWPs).
