Stage set for sell-out IPAF Summit & IAPAs in Berlin, Germany

First speakers named as IPAF Summit & IAPAs set for sell-out

The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) Summit 2023 and International Awards for Powered Access (IAPA) gala dinner, to be held in partnership with KHL in Berlin, Germany, on 20 April, are confirmed as a complete sell-out for the second year running following the two-year hiatus in physical events during the pandemic.

The IPAF Summit will be held in Berlin for the first time, following the sell-out return to the in-person format in London last year. The theme is “The Future of Powered Access: Dynamic, Digital, Diverse”, offering a look ahead to challenges and opportunities in powered access worldwide in the year IPAF celebrates its 40th anniversary.

The IPAF Summit in partnership with Access International will be at the H4 Hotel Berlin Alexanderplatz; in the evening there is a gala dinner to reveal the winners from among the nominees in each of this year’s 13 International Awards for Powered Access (IAPAs) categories, with TV presenter Mark Durden-Smith returning by popular demand for the third year running to host both the IPAF Summit and the IAPAs.

On 19 April, the day prior to the event, there will be a site visit for delegates to visit the Z-Lab in Berlin, and in the evening a networking reception will be held for event attendees at the Bärensaal, Berlin’s old city hall. A string of activities to mark the 40th anniversary of IPAF’s formation in 1983 will also be officially launched.

Peter Douglas, CEO & MD of IPAF, says: “Once again, the IPAF Summit & IAPAs are  fully sold out, as was the case in London last year. On that occasion, the appetite was no doubt in part owing to the enforced absence from physical events during the pandemic; this time I am sure it is down to hosting the Summit & IAPAs in Berlin, Germany, for the first time ever.

“Germany is an incredibly important market for us and our members, and the speaker’s line-up we have put together really reflects this. The nominated IAPAs shortlists also show how fiercely contested all of the categories have been again this year, and I can’t wait to find out who will triumph on the night!

“We also have a fascinating site visit to look forward to and I am sure everyone is excited about getting together for a friendly networking reception in the spectacular environs of the Berlin Bärensaal on the evening of the 19th. IPAF and KHL kindly thank all of our event and networking sponsors for the IPAF Summit & IAPAs.”

Alongside Peter Douglas and other IPAF speakers, the line-up of IPAF Summit presenters includes: Jay Iyengar, Executive Vice President, Chief Technology and Strategic Sourcing Officer – Oshkosh Co; Lars Thomsen, Chief Futurist – the Future Matters and member of the World Future Society; Marco Einhaus, Head of Subcommittee Building Construction – Berufsgenossenschaft; Susan Xu, CEO – Sinoboom Intelligent Equipment; Jürgen Küspert, Managing Director, BBI; Kate Bell, Head of UK Training and Alana Paterson, Head of HSE at Nationwide Platforms; Kevin O’Shea, Director of Safety – Hydro Mobile; Alice Henault, Strategy & Development Director – Loxam; Karin Nars, Managing Director – Dinolift & IPAF President; Oana Samoila, Key Accounts Sales Manager – Almac-Italia; Carolin Winkel, Director of Strategy & CSR at Zeppelin Rental; and Lindsey Anderson, Editor ALH – KHL.
