IPAF Working Groups

IPAF’s key areas of work are led by working groups of volunteers that meet regularly during the year.

IPAF ACCESS CONTROL WORKING GROUP 

The working group includes machine manufacturers and telematics vendors looking at the changes to machine access control using digital devices. The working group is part of the ePAL app project. 

IPAF UK COUNTRY COUNCIL 3-YEAR PLAN WORKING GROUP 

This UK working group usually meets annually to review and agree on the priority projects identified by the UK Country Council and to ensure the projects chosen to align with IPAF’s 3-Year Plan. 

IPAF VEHICLE MOUNT WORKING GROUP 

This UK working group is made up of UKCC members with an interest in the 1b category of truck and van mounts and spiders.  The working group's aim is to raise awareness of vehicle mounts and the challenges manufacturers and distributors face. 

IPAF OPERATOR COURSE REVIEW WORK GROUP

A global working group with representation from the UK, Mexico, Italy, Portugal, Uruguay, Brazil, Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, USA, UAE, Germany, Switzerland and Singapore. The aim is to update and improve the operator training course with input from experts all over the world.

IPAF DEMONSTRATOR COURSE REVIEW WORK GROUP

This is a group from the Training Committee. The aim of the working group is to improve and update the Demonstrator course and create an eLearning version. A key aim is to bridge the gap between standard operator training and using larger and more complex equipment. Representatives from the UK. 

IPAF HARNESS COURSE REVIEW WORK GROUP

A team of experts including representation from the WAHSA (Work at Height Safety Association) who are an association of Personal fall protection manufacturers (SpanSet), We have representation from MEWP Manufacturers (NiftyLift) and Training Centres all with the aim of updating and improving the Harness training course and creating options in the form of eLearning, Instructor-led and separated Inspection training. Representation from UK, Uruguay and Mexico.

IPAF MCWP & HOIST UK & IRELAND WORK GROUP  

This Work Group reports to the International Committee and represents all member companies that operate in the MCWP and Hoist industry in the UK and Ireland. The work of this Work Group is focused on the following aims: To encourage the highest standards of safety and good working practice, to provide for cooperation between all members in the discussion of common problems and to represent the Industry in discussion at government level. 

IPAF MCWP SAFETY & TECHNICAL WORK GROUP   

This Work Group was created to work first on the coordinated response to the Safety Alert from the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regarding MCWPs, and next on the revision of BS and EN standards/regulations for MCWPs.
