A virtual reality simulator (VR sim) on which to demonstrate operator training, and safety stations using mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) to illustrate the key risks leading to common accidents will be on the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) stand at SMOPYC 2021, 17-20 November 2021 in Zaragoza, Spain.

Javier Cerezo, IPAF’s Spain Representative, says: “IPAF is pleased to return to in-person events in Spain. At SMOPYC there will be a focus on IPAF’s accident reporting project and the resulting Global Safety Report, which offers essential information about the main risks and underlying causes of accidents involving powered access machines. “We will also have a VR sim on the stand, on which it is now possible to renew and extend your IPAF training, including MEWP operator renewals of operator Powered Access Licence (PAL) Cards, and IPAF PAL+ training for advanced operators.”

Peter Douglas, CEO & MD of IPAF, comments: “After almost two years without face-to-face events and in-person gatherings, I’m sure like me most folk across our very sociable industry are very glad we are finally able to get together again.

“In the past year, IPAF has been busy creating a new ePAL mobile app for operators of powered access, developing our industry-leading training offer, safety and technical guidance, publishing the Global Safety Report and Powered Access Rental Market reports and adding new leaflets, Andy Access posters and Toolbox Talks.”

● IPAF will be in pavilion 7, stand 9 at the SMOPYC 2021 at the Palacio de Congresos, Zaragoza, Spain 17-20 November 2021. See www.ipaf.org/events for details about all upcoming IPAF events and webinars.
