IPAF signs agreement with Spanish rental association ASEAMAC
The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) has signed a wide-ranging agreement with ASEAMAC, the Spanish Rental Association,to collaborate on projects, events and to share knowledge, best practice and safety expertise to the mutual benefit of both organisations and their members.
The agreement was signed by Tim Whiteman, CEO & MD of IPAF, and Juan José Torres, President of ASEAMAC, at the latter’s Annual Conference in Madrid, Spain,
30-31 January.
As part of the agreement, the route for ASEAMAC members wishing to join IPAF will be simplified and ASEAMAC members will be able to deliver IPAF’s accredited training for MEWP operators and managers, including the globally recognised PAL Card operator course, subject to IPAF’s usual joining and audit processes.
A reciprocal facilitation arrangement for IPAF members wishing to join ASEAMAC is also part of the agreement, subject to them meeting the conditions and requirements of ASEAMAC membership. Members of either organisation will be able to take advantage of special discounted rates to attend paid events hosted by IPAF or ASEAMAC.
With regards to events and conferences organised by ASEAMAC, IPAF will be invited to supply a speaker or debate panellist at any conference or working group that is relevant to powered access, and the two organisations will also collaborate on national and international occupational health & safety events and campaigns and will work together to share and promote publications, research and safety messages.
Tim Whiteman comments: “IPAF’s worldwide mission is to promote the safe and effective use of powered access, and wherever appropriate we seek to partner with like-minded organisations where our aims and objectives overlap, to spread the safety message far and wide and to provide enhanced benefits to our network of members.
“Following on from similar partnerships and memoranda of understanding with health & safety bodies in the Middle East, South East Asia and India last year, IPAF is pleased to agree an understanding and commitment to work closely with ASEAMAC in Spain and across Europe to further our joint aims and to the mutual benefit of both organisations and their members.
“This is a very exciting development and we certainly look forward to working closely and productively with ASEAMAC in the months and years ahead.”
Juan José Torres, CEO of TORRES Servicios Técnicos (TST) and ASEAMAC’s President, comments: “We feel this agreement represents a service to our members, as training was not part of our core competencies as an organisation, and we can learn a lot from IPAF in this respect.
