IPAF ElevAÇÃO 2024: A Record-Breaking Success

The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) is delighted to announce the resounding success of IPAF ElevAÇÃO 2024, held on May 8th and 9th at the Hotel Terras Altas in Itapecerica, Brazil. With over 320 attendees from across Latin America, this year's event marked a significant milestone for IPAF, solidifying its position as a leading authority in the powered access industry.

The two-day conference brought together industry professionals, safety experts, and key stakeholders to discuss the latest trends, innovations, and best practices in powered access. From insightful keynote speeches, interactive panel discussions and harnessing the power of AI, IPAF ElevAÇÃO 2024 provided attendees with valuable insights, networking opportunities and furthered their knowledge of IPAF’s global safety initiatives.

Reflecting on the event’s record-breaking success, Peter Douglas, IPAF CEO and Managing Director said: "We're thrilled with the fantastic turnout at ElevAÇÃO 2024, the highest-attended event we have hosted in the country to date.   • Safety First: As always, safety was a top priority at IPAF ElevAÇÃO 2024. Attendees had the opportunity to learn from industry experts and participate in discussions on enhancing safety practices in the workplace 
  • Inspiring Keynote: Gustavo Borges, Olympic swimming medallist, delivered a motivational keynote speech emphasising the importance of perseverance, hard work, and dedication, both in sports and business 
  • Professional Recognition: Antonio Barbosa, IPAF's Regional Manager for Latin America, was honoured with the Professional Trajectory Award presented by Movicarga for his outstanding contributions to the industry 
  • Industry Insights: Attendees gained valuable insights into the professionalisation of the sector and the importance of adding value to the industry, thanks to presentations by industry leaders such as Guilherme Boog, Director of ABRASFE 
  • Instructor Excellence: IPAF recognised instructors Alexandre Celestino, Wagner Silva Dos Santos, and Jessica Pimentel for their exemplary work in promoting safety and training

IPAF Brazil PDS 

The Brazilian IPAF Instructor Professional Development Seminar (PDS) concluded with a series of informative sessions: 

  • Gianfranco Pampalon, a renowned Health and Safety expert and former Inspector for the Ministry of Labour, discussed the importance of effective planning to save lives. With his extensive expertise and presence within both the Brazilian community and the powered access industry, Gianfranco has been a recurring speaker at this event, offering invaluable insights throughout. 
  • Guesdes M Rocha, Service Training Coordinator at Skyjack in Brazil, emphasised the importance of safety during the maintenance and repairs of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs). 
  • Diego Bustamante, IPAF's Regional Manager for Latin America, provided updates on IPAF system enhancements and industry news, showcasing the organisation's commitment to advancing training standards. 
  • Paul Roddis, IPAF’s Training Manager, delivered a digital presentation via Heygen’s Generative AI system, highlighting updates to the IPAF Operator course. 

The PDS also featured technical workshops covering frequently asked questions from trainees, detailed discussions on tyres, batteries, and thorough examinations. IPAF extends gratitude to sponsors and instructors for their valuable contributions to these discussions.
