IPAF builds profile in China at IRC and bauma in Shanghai
Representatives of the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) had a busy week in Shanghai, presenting at the International Rental Conference (IRC) and exhibiting at bauma China, meeting and networking with members, health & safety representatives and others from the powered access industry, which continues to grow strongly and rapidly in China.
Tim Whiteman, CEO & Managing Director of IPAF, gave a presentation covering IPAF’s accident reporting project, fatal injury rate statistics and analysis, and gave an overview of IPAF’s current global Plan Ahead for Safety campaign to around 450 delegates in attendance during the IRC event in Shanghai.
Then bauma China on 27-30 November saw thousands of delegates across the four days, with visitors to the outdoor IPAF stand able to learn about the latest safety and technical guidance, developments in IPAF’s MEWP operator and manager training, and to pick up leaflets, stickers and Andy Access safety posters. Andy Access, IPAF’s popular large-than-life safety mascot, was in attendance at both events.
The week in China was also a chance to meet IPAF members including Zoomlion and Sinoboom, to join product launches and celebration drinks and dinners. The appetite for IPAF’s MEWP safety guidance and training in China is growing, and there are many events planned there next year, including a meeting of IPAF’s Hong Kong Council and the IPAF Asia Conference & Showcase in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, on 17-18 July.
