Free webinar will launch the IPAF Global Safety Report 2022
Participants from across the powered access industry can join a free online webinar to get an overview of the key findings of the latest Global Safety Report, compiled by the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) from analysis of anonymised data collected through IPAF’s Accident Reporting Portal.
The webinar is the latest in IPAF’s popular series of free online presentations, and will be hosted by Brian Parker, IPAF’s Head of Safety & Technical, on 30 June 2022, at 12pm (GMT+1). The webinar is sponsored by Skyjack, Hinowa, Palazzani, inspHire and GemOne.
The IPAF Global Safety Report 2022 will be launched to coincide and includes the latest data collected via the IPAF portal (www.ipafaccidentreporting.org) covering the ten-year period 2012-21. Also contributing to the webinar will be:

The presenters will review some of the key findings in the 2022 report, which features for the first time a review of the latest available data over one, three and ten years. The webinar will examine trends and emphasise the importance of reporting all incidents –including near misses.
Brian Parker comments: “It is quite a landmark that IPAF’s accident reporting has been going for ten years; currently we are receiving around 600 reports a year from more than 40 countries worldwide – a leap forward from where we were in the early days.
“We use this detailed database to inform all the work we do at IPAF – including updating our globally recognised training and forming the basis of our worldwide safety campaigns, such as the current Don’t Fall For It! initiative aimed at reducing falls from the platform.
“However, if we look back over the full ten years’ worth of data, we can see the same top three causes of serious injuries and deaths have been consistent throughout –namely falls from the platform, electrocutions, and machine overturns.
“Is there more we should be doing as an industry to reduce these numbers? We hope that powered access stakeholders around the world will join this webinar and download the report when it is published, to understand the key trends and to benchmark their own safety programmes. By working collaboratively, the industry can continue to develop positive solutions to the most pressing safety concerns identified in the report.”
The webinar will be broadcast via Zoom and will be in English, featuring simultaneous translations in Italian, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Dutch, Korean and Chinese.
