This symbol is designed to help operators locate the auxiliary lowering controls in the event of an emergency following a machine malfunction. 

Recommended use

IPAF recommends that an auxiliary lowering sticker is applied to every machine* and is clearly visible from the outside of the machine.

*applicable to all MEWP type machines

Recommended location of the sticker on the machine:

• If a single actuator is needed to lower the machine – the sticker should be positioned next to the actuator.
• If multiple actuators or an actuation sequence is needed to lower the machine – the sticker should be positioned next to the instructions at or near the actuators.

N.B. The design of this sticker was revised in 2018 following a recommended amendment by the IPAF Manufacturers’ Technical Committee. (Please discontinue use of the original sticker.)
