Bookings open for Asia Conference 2022 in Singapore
The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) has announced bookings have opened for its Asia Conference 2022 event, to be held on conference on 28-29 July at the Singapore EXPO & Hilton Orchard Singapore – the first time since the coronavirus pandemic that the event has been held in person.
The conference will be split over two days, with an open-forum symposium on day one at the Singapore EXPO and an IPAF members’ conference on the second afternoon at the Hilton Orchard Singapore. It will be a hybrid event, involving in-person attendance and live-streamed presentations that will also be recorded for review at a later date. In this way IPAF hopes to accommodate all those who wish to participate, despite any uncertainty around national or regional travel restrictions or public health concerns.
The event speakers will offer a wealth of experience across the powered access and workplace health & safety sectors. The event is free to attend, though delegates must book their places via the Asia Conference website. Speakers confirmed to date to speak during the symposium are:
- Peter Douglas, CEO & Managing Director, IPAF;
- Bernard Kwok, Deputy Director (Engineering Safety), Ministry of Manpower;
- Prof Goh Yang Miang, Associate Professor, National University of Singapore;
- Brian Parker, Head of Safety & Technical, IPAF;
- Caesar Tanquingcen, Product Manager, Oshkosh-JLG;
- Romina Vanzi, Head of International Development & MCWPs, IPAF;
- Angel Ibañez, Representative for MCWPs and Related Products, IPAF;
- Julien Micheli, Asia Pacific Product Marketing Manager, Haulotte;
- Peter Lee, FP S&S Application Manager, MSA Safety (APAC);
- Vincent Koay, Product Manager (MEWPs), Manitou Asia;
- Andrew Delahunt, Global Business Development Manager, EQSS.
The second day features a market-focused half-day conference followed by networking dinner; speakers confirmed include IPAF CEO Peter Douglas, Tim Whiteman, CEO of Sinoboom BV, Yanglei, General Manager of Beijing Xiangyuncheng Building Decoration Engineering Co, and Sharon Foong, General Manager of Terex (Genie) Singapore. Day two is also free to attend for IPAF members, though all would-be delegates are requested to book online. Those joining virtually either day will be able to select simultaneous translation into Chinese (Mandarin).
Raymond Wat, IPAF SEA Regional General Manager, says: “It is really pleasing to be able to announce that the IPAF Asia Conference & Showcase is back, after two years during which we have not been able to travel freely or meet face to face. We have been looking forward to this long-overdue opportunity for us to reconnect, and now it is here!
“We are grateful to have received overwhelming support from various national and regional occupational safety & health authorities, councils and industry associations, from Singapore, Hong Kong and the wider Asia Pacific. The pursuit of work at height safety transcends borders and is the result of an extraordinary ongoing collaborative effort from a range of stakeholders, many of whom are in support of this two-day event.
“We hope you will join us in-person in Singapore – or virtually if that is more convenient – for this unmissable opportunity to hear about the latest safety developments in our industry. Our speaker line-up offers knowledge and expertise, and there will be ample opportunity to meet and network with colleagues and contemporaries from across Asia and the world to discuss best practices and reconnect with professional peers.”
Peter Douglas, CEO & MD of IPAF, says: “IPAF has worked hard to support our members during the pandemic and we are determined to pick up where we left off in providing first-rate in-person events and opportunities for industry professionals to meet, share ideas and network in ways it is not so easy to do in a virtual environment.
“We appreciate there are still concerns around public health and acknowledge there may be difficulties surrounding international travel, so by presenting a hybrid event those who cannot join in person can still enjoy the presentations and cross-industry knowledge the IPAF Asia Conference always offers. I’m excited about being in Singapore and hope to see you there for what promises to be a first-class event.”
