A Global Safety Report created using the latest analysis of data gathered in IPAF’s incident reporting project and an overview of MEWPs for Managers training will be among the key pieces of technical guidance and safety information available free of charge from the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) stand at the A+A Trade Fair & Congress 26-29 October 2021 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Reinhard Willenbrock, IPAF’s Germany Representative, says: “After the pandemic and so many meetings remotely or by video conference, IPAF is pleased to be returning to in-person events in Germany. We will be in Hall 10, Stand A43, and this year at the event there will be a focus on IPAF’s MEWPs for Managers Training course, which offers essential information about the right preparation for the use of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms.

“There will also be a sophisticated virtual reality simulator (VR sim) on the stand, on which visitors can test their skills and find out about future training applications that are compatible with VR sim platforms. Visitors to the stand can also enquire about the new type of IPAF Safety Professional membership, aimed at those in health & safety or similar supervisory roles both within powered access and wider end-use sectors.

“In addition to this, we will be sharing the IPAF Global Safety Report 2021 with stand visitors, based on the analysis of the latest data gathered in IPAF’s incident reporting project and giving an overview of the key types of incidents involving MEWPs and how to mitigate some of the underlying risks.

Peter Douglas, CEO & MD of IPAF, comments: “After almost two years without face-to-face events and in-person gatherings, I’m sure like me most folk across our very sociable industry are looking forward eagerly to getting together again.

“While the pandemic raged, IPAF has been busy, creating our new ePAL mobile app for operators of powered access, developing and updating our industry-leading training offer, safety and technical guidance, developing up-to-the-minute publications including the Global Safety Report and Powered Access Rental Market reports and creating new leaflets, stickers, Andy Access safety posters and Toolbox Talks, all of which are aimed at helping to boost the safety of work at height operations. We look forward to seeing you and catching up.”
